Michael J. Van Dyke

Mr. Van Dyke joined the firm in July 1997 and concentrates his practice in the areas of professional malpractice, focusing on the defense of medical, dental, and other healthcare malpractice claims.


Mr. Van Dyke obtained his undergraduate degree in 1989 from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. He thereafter continued his business education in Japan and, upon return to the U.S., worked for Ricoh Corporation in San Jose, California. He entered law school in 1990 at Loyola of Los Angeles Law School and received his Juris Doctor in 1993. Mr. Van Dyke was a finalist in Loyola Law School’s Scott Moot Court Competition and served as an Associate Justice on Loyola’s Scott Moot Court Honors Board.


Prior to graduating from law school, Mr. Van Dyke externed for the Honorable Laughlin E. Waters, Senior U.S. District Court Judge. Upon graduating in 1993, Mr. Van Dyke joined the law firm of McCurdy, Elliot, Lamb, Leibl & Snyder in Los Angeles, California where he practiced in the area of professional malpractice, specializing in medical malpractice defense.


Mr. Van Dyke is licensed to practice law in both the state and federal courts of Hawaii and California. He is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association and the California State Bar Association.
