J. Thomas Weber

Mr. Weber joined the firm in April 1995 and concentrates his practice in the areas of workers' compensation, third-party subrogation, and tort liability defense. He became a partner with Ayabe, Chong, Nishimoto, Sia & Nakamura in 2000.


Mr. Weber graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1980 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He attended Marquette University School of Law in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1983. He was admitted to the Wisconsin and Hawaii Bars in 1983.


Upon graduation, Mr. Weber became a law clerk for the Honorable Yoshimi Hayashi, Associate Judge with the Supreme Court for the State of Hawaii. In 1985, Mr. Weber joined the law firm of Fong & Miho, in Honolulu, and practiced primarily in the areas of real estate and financing. Mr. Weber returned to a clerkship in 1987, clerking for Magistrate Judge Bert S. Tokairin in the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. In 1988, Mr. Weber began insurance defense litigation as an associate attorney with Davis, Reid & Richards in Honolulu. He joined Industrial Indemnity Insurance Co. in Honolulu as a trial attorney in September 1990, and when the company reorganized in 1993, he became a trial attorney for a sister company, Crum & Forster Insurance.


Mr. Weber is a member of the Hawaii State Bar Association.
